After an incredibly successful safari in February, Sean will be leading a second migration journey in October.
The February group witnessed the great migration come to a halt, wildebeest, zebra and gazelles stopped their great trek to give birth. In October, the herds will be returning from the Maasai Mara into the Serengeti. They will have to endure crocodile infested rivers, harsh conditions and the shear concentration of animals crossing at one time! It is truly one of natures most spectacular movements of animals.
The Serengeti, meaning “endless plains” in the Maasai language, is undoubtedly one of the world’s most celebrated wilderness areas with an estimated 2 million animals constantly on the move along the plains.
Join Sean Lues, award winning wildlife photographer, safari guide and passionate conservationist, to experience the largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world. This trip is timed to coincide with the vast herds at their northerly most point, as they turn to go south and have to cross the crocodile-infested Mara River. We will be sitting on the southern bank of the river and waiting at a selected crossing point, watching as the tension builds up amongst the herds on the northern bank and hopefully our timing will be right to watch as they push down the dusty banks and then swim the river towards us.
