Opera Australia at Uluru

Opera Australia will be returning to Uluru from 11th - 13th December 2020, to deliver an expanded program of four unique performances. In 2020 we invite you to curate your own experience, with a range of packages and stand-alone concerts available for you to choose from.

Friday night - 11 December: The Marriage of Figaro Poolside Dinner & Opera Gala at Uluru (Accommodation & two performances package)

The weekend commences on Friday night with the Marriage of Figaro Poolside Dinner set in the luxurious poolside surrounds of Sails in the Desert. Opera Australia will present a performance of the joyous final act of the Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, playfully staged under majestic ghost gums with ornate costuming and atmospheric lighting. One of Mozart’s most famous operas, this light-hearted work touches on themes of forgiveness and reconciliation. The performance will take place as you enjoy a sumptuous gala 3-course dinner inspired by the award-winning Tali Wiru. The stunning menu will be complemented by superb wines in keeping with the celebratory nature of this memorable evening.

Saturday morning – 12 December: Brahms Liebeslieder Waltzes Sunrise Performance (Ticket only event)

Atop a sand-dune, overlooking the spellbinding colours of Field of Light Uluru’s 50,000 glass spheres, four of Opera Australia’s finest singers and a string quartet perform a selection of Brahms’ most beautiful love songs, the Liebeslieder Waltzes. Limited to an audience of only 100 guests, this intimate recital is followed by a light breakfast as the sun rises over Uluru.

Saturday night – 12 December: Opera Gala at Uluru (Accommodation & Opera Gala at Uluru package)

Back by popular demand, this gala concert showcases opera’s best loved hits, performed in the stunning Red Centre of Australia. Some of Opera Australia’s finest singers perform under the stars, accompanied by a chamber orchestra, marrying sublime art with a uniquely Australian setting. As the sun sets over the desert backdrop, the performers will be illuminated by the spellbinding colours of Field of Light Uluru’s 50,000 glass spheres.

Sunday morning – 13 December: Taryn Fiebig with Cello, Sunrise Performance (Ticket only event)

Celebrated soprano Taryn Fiebig accompanying herself on cello, performs a selection of songs as the sun rises over majestic Uluru and Kata Tjuta. With an audience limited to just 100 guests, this magical acoustic recital, against the backdrop of a desert sunrise, will be followed by a light breakfast
