20 DAY TOUR TO
LIBYA & EGYPT

During March 2006 Journeys Worldwide organised a special tour including a total solar eclipse, which was viewed 140 kms south of Tobruk in Libya, as well as a Nile Cruise in Egypt. Due to the success of this trip as well as the very positive responds from our tour members, we will now feature this tour on a regular basis. The tour will operate with a maximum of 20 tour members plus a professional Australian tour escort. Separate airconditioned mid-size coaches are used in Libya and Egypt. Tours will operate with a minimum of eight tour members, in which case the tour will be escorted locally and transportation will be in airconditioned mini buses. |

A seven-day tour of Libya, including Sabratha, Leptus Magna, Cyrene and Tobruk, will be followed by an eleven-day visit to Egypt, including El Alamein, Alexandria, Cairo and a Nile Cruise. Accommodation in Libya is in 3 & 4 star hotels, and in the smaller towns we use the best accommodation available. It must however be pointed out that the Libyan tourist infrastructure did not expand during many years of isolation and hotel standards are not always commensurate with those in other countries. Tourleaders include well known travel talk back identity Dick Cijffers as well as our Senior Tour Manager, Margaret Freebairn. Both Dick and Margaret have conducted tours all over the world for over 20 years and both escorted our Special Total Solar Eclipse in March 2006. |
