KASHMIR EXCURSION
The Vale of Kashmir has always been considered one of the most beautiful places on earth. Surrounded by
high mountains and picturesque lakes, the valley attracted the attention of the British Raj at the end
of the 19th century. As a result of this, a number of houseboats were moored on Dal Lake, offering comfortable
accommodation and local cuisine. This long tradition continues today. Located at an altitude of 1652 meters,
the valley is surrounded by beautiful mountains.
Day 01 DELHI / SRINAGAR
Morning transfer to the domestic terminal for your flight to Srinagar, the summer capital of Kashmir.
Upon arrival you will be transferred to Dal Lake. After a short shikara boat ride you will be welcomed
onto your houseboat by the captain and crew. The houseboats normally consist of two or three bedrooms with en suite
facilities a lounge & dining room. Afternoon free to relax and enjoy the surrounding.

Day 02 SRINAGAR
Morning walking tour of Srinagar city, including the Mosque and a visit to a carpet weaving factory. Return
to your houseboat for lunch. Afternoon free.

Day 03 SRINAGAR
Today you will be taken by road to Gulmarg, which has reputedly the highest golf course in the world. There
are many scenic walks in the area as well as horseback riding. Return to your houseboat late afernoon.

Day 04
SRINAGAR
Free day to relax on your houseboat or take a scenic shikara ride on the lake; or you may wish to visit
one of the many handicraft emporiums for which Kashmir is justly famous. Remember to bargain!

Day 05 SRINAGAR /
MUMBAI
Late morning departure for the airport to join your return flight to Delhi.
* It is important that when travelling to the Indian Subcontinent to choose your travel dates carefully.
The best touring season is from 01 September to 31 March. The best time to visit Hill Stations
such as Shimla and Darjeeling as well as Kashmir, is from March to October.
