Journeys Worldwide  Total Eclipse Experience - March 2006

Journeys Worldwide arranged a number of Total Solar Eclipse Tours in 2001 and 2002. We have now organised a Solar Eclipse Tour of Libya and Egypt, which will once again prove to be very popular. The Eclipse site is situated in the flat desert country of Libya and a Bedouin tent will be constructed for your convenience. The Total Solar Eclipse is predicted to be exactly 4 minutes in duration. The clear, pollution-free desert air will be conducive to an excellent viewing of the Eclipse.

A seven-day tour of Libya, including Leptus Magna, Cyrene and Tobruk, will be followed by a five-day visit to Egypt, including El Alamein, Alexandria and Cairo. An optional Nile Cruise Extension is also available. Due to the hotel infrastructure in the area, limited places are available and an early booking is strongly advised. Tourleaders include well known travel talk back identity Dick Cijffers as well as our Senior Tour Manager, Margaret Freebairn. Both Dick and Margaret have conducted tours all over the world for over 20 years.

TOUR COST INCLUDES

* International economy airfares from Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.  
* Accommodation as specified in the itinerary. Tour members should note that Libya has only recently reopened its doors to tourists, and the hotels used are amongst the best available. It should be noted however that hotel standards are not always commensurate with those in North America, Australia and New Zealand.
* All entrance fees to historical sites and places of interest as specified in the itinerary.
* All meals as specified in the itinerary.
* Transportation is in 45-seater coaches, which are airconditioned. Bottled mineral water is supplied on the coaches in Libya.
* Services of Journeys Worldwide tour leaders, as well as local guides.
* Porterage of one suitcase throughout the tour. 
* Tour members originating from countries other than Australia or New Zealand should apply the land-only price and arrange their own international airfares.

* The above cost includes domestic airfares Cairo/Luxor and Aswan/Cairo but does not include domestic airport taxes, which are approximately AUD $30.00 per person.

HOW TO BOOK
In order to make a booking you are required to complete the Booking Form and pay an initial deposit of AUD $300.00 per person. This deposit is refundable up to 31 December 2004 after which it becomes non-refundable.
